The main issue is that all stages are bland and look the same -- oh look it's yet another stage in the boring whatever-roots which looks identical to all the other ones. The graphics are good, especially considering how well the game runs, but the art direction is bland as hell.

It's going to be really funny when DMC6 comes out and Ganker nitpicks that game while pretending they liked DMC5 this whole time

Best game in the series IMO, all others have more levels that I hate, here worst ones are just mediocre but still fun. Pretty bad art style though, levels don't look interesting, gothic architecture and artstyle would be better.

i played it to see what's the fuss is about, and it's boring. you just mash buttons along a linear hallway.

This game has so many fricking cutscenes. Even if you skip them it still destroys the pacing.

The only part of this game I really disliked were the story retcons. Vergil thinking his mother abandoned him instead of dying in front of him was such a bullsh*t and unneccesary change

Bad rating system. Basically averaging out the rating you get in fights just encourages skipping fights that will end too soon to raise your rating. It's better when it's simply earning stylish points and aiming towards a certain number to get an S rank.

It was great. It wasn't what i wanted at all as far as improvements from 4 are considered but it was great.

I hate weapon switching, but love style switching. All characters should have only 1 weaponfu they keep forever. Everyone else is wrong

I literally have more nostalgia for DMC5 than DMC4 kek, and I played both on launch. DMC5 will probably go down as the last game in my life I truly loved. Don't think I will ever get that excited over another game ever again. Its unironically over for me.
