This is a step-by-step procedure for replacing the serpentine belt and tensioner pulley on a Ford Fusion 2013-2020 with a 2.5L engine.

What you will need

  • Ford Fusion tensioner pulley
  • Ford Fusion serpentine belt
  • Tire wrenchor breaker bar
  • Floor Jack
  • Jack stands
  • Fastener remover or flat screwdriver
  • 21mm, 14mm, 10mm sockets

Procedure

  1. Park the vehicle on a flat-level ground surface.

  2. Loosen the lug nuts of the front passenger wheel using a tire wrench or breaker bar.
  3. Jack up the vehicle’s front and support it with jack stands.

  4. Pull the wheel out of the vehicle.
  5. Remove the push clips and bolts on the fender liner. Use a fastener remover and a 10mm nut driver to remove the push clips and bolts.

  7. Twist the 21mm bolt on the crankshaft pulley and insert a thick paper on the crankshaft and belt.Ford Fusion Tensioner & Serpentine Belt Replacement – YOUCANIC (6)
  8. Kee the thick paper between the belt and pulley. Pull the belt out of the crankshaft and ac compressor as you manually turn the crankshaft clockwise.
  9. Open the hood. Pull the hood release under the dashboard and unlock the hood latch on the vehicle’s front. Then pull the hood up at set the hood strut to hold the hood. If you need help with this step, follow the procedures shown in the video.

Install the belt on the crankshaft and ac compressor by turning the crankshaft while sliding the belt on the pulleys.Ford Fusion Tensioner & Serpentine Belt Replacement – YOUCANIC (21)


Reinstall the fender liner and its push clips/bolts.Reinstall the wheel. Torque the lug nuts to 100 Ft-Lbs (135 N·m).
